Look What I Got For Christmas!
I got the 5.5 quart and the 2.5 quart Le Creuset Dutch Oven Set! I know, they’re very expensive, but they’re going to last forever, so really they’re family heirlooms, right? I guess that officially makes us SKIers (a term I read in the Economist a while back. They said that the Baby Boomer generation is different from the generations before them because instead of passing money to their children, they are Spending their Kids Inheritance. I thought it was a funny term!) Sorry kids, put away your big dreams and I hope you like to cook because your inheritance is coming in the form of a used dutch oven set. Okay, they aren’t that expensive! I’m sure there’ll be something left over for the kids when we’re gone.
So far everything I’ve made in the dutch ovens has been gobbled up. Tonight I’m going to try this sausage, kale, and white bean soup. We’ll see how well it goes over. My kids are generally good with vegetables – they even eat brussels sprouts raw – so it should be okay. Now off to Sprouts to get the rest of the ingredients! I’m so excited!
