What I Got for Mother’s Day
Aside from a lovely 7 hour drive in the car for Mother’s Day, I also got these beautiful presents:
Hand-picked chocolates from See’s – check out all those Bordeaux!
A lego heart purchased at Legoland itself! It is sitting on my desk now to remind me of my sweet Josh and how he used his hard earned money to buy me a present at Legoland.
Handmade napkin rings – one for each member of the family
And a book/card from Kate. The last one wasn’t really a surprise. I was teaching her preschool class the week before Mother’s Day and tried to come up with a great craft. I decided I would take a bunch of photos of the kids and then find a poem online that could incorporate them. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find a good poem so I just wrote a little blurb for each photo. “My love for you is strong like a superhero”, “My ears will try very hard to hear you” (didn’t want to make any promises there!), “My hands will work hard to make you proud”, “My feet will always run to you”. I think they turned out pretty cute. It was funny to see the kids try to negotiate where to glue the picture on each page and still make space for the words! It was something I hadn’t expected, but it probably helps a lot with learning spacial awareness.
