Baby Sleep Positions
We don’t have a baby anymore – Kate is 4, which makes it that much more miserable that she has been climbing into bed with us nearly every night for the past few weeks. Lots of times I’ll make her go back to her bedroom or let her sleep on our floor in a sleeping bag. But lately I’ve been so tired that when she comes wandering in at 2 am, I pull the covers aside and let her climb up into bed with us. I usually put her on my side to guard Scott from her kicking and draping her arms over our necks, so that he can get a decent night of sleep in order to get up early and go support our family. But sometimes around 5, I just get so tired that I push her to the middle. We wake up feeling more tired than when we went to bed, and then vow that the next night will be different (which it never is). The next night we won’t let her into our bed (but we always do). I thought it was so hilarious when Scott sent me this link this morning. Over the years we’ve definitely experienced all of these “sleep” positions. In fact, I think my spleen has taken up permanent residence elsewhere in my body to avoid being assaulted in the middle of the night.
