Eat Lunch – It’s Important
Sometimes when I’m in the middle of a project I find it difficult to stop and eat lunch. I think this stems from the fact that I’m usually at home and am expected to make my own lunch before eating. I’m quite sure that if someone were to bring me lunch prepared in precisely the way I’m craving at that moment, I would have no problem stopping whatever I’m doing to eat lunch for 15 minutes. But nobody ever does that.
This lack of fuel to my body often results in me being quite ravenous by the time dinner rolls around, which in turn makes me highly unpleasant to be around. Sometimes when I know I’m going to be working on something for a few days, I will buy myself lunches that are quick and easy to prepare from the grocery store. These items typically fall on a scale of totally disgusting but will fill your belly to somewhat palatable. That’s why I was nearly ecstatic the other day when I heated up this container of broccoli cheese soup made by Panera that I purchased at Target. It was, by far, the best pre-packaged soup I’ve ever eaten. Let’s be honest, it would have been better with a Panera sourdough roll to dip into it, but still. Besides, my friend had brought me a loaf of pillowy, homemade bread the day before, so I was just fine.
So, next time you’re working on a project and don’t think you’ll have time for lunch, try heating up a soup from Panera. Go ahead and eat it right out of the container…I won’t judge you. Mmmmm!
