Gift Ideas for Children

December 5, 2011

Kids are pretty easy to buy for.  But if you’re looking for something different – something that won’t add to the mounds of garishly colored cheap plastic toys in someone’s home (or in your own), here are a few ideas for gifts that will be truly beloved by your little recipient.

These toys by Lizette Greco are custom made to bring to life one of your child’s drawings.  When I first saw this (on Design Mom), my jaw dropped.  They are just so awesome!  My only problem is that my children are so prolific in their drawings that I would have a difficult time picking one to use.  But if I could ever decide, I would love to have a toy made.

What about a print from Sarah Jane Studios?  I love her work!  It is so happy and whimsical.  She also has calendars, a picture book about Christmas, embroidery patterns, jewelry, journals, and even her own fabric!

And, of course, something from Red Envelope.  They are my go-to when I’m stuck trying to find a unique gift.  These rag dolls can be personalized with your child’s name, and you can choose one that looks like her too!
