Christmas Gift Ideas for Her

November 7, 2011

Moms, Sisters, Grandmas, Friends, Wives…we’ve all got women in our lives to buy holiday gifts for.  Generally speaking, women are a lot easier to buy for than men, but in case you’re stuck for gift ideas, here are some of my favorites:

Paper Patisserie notebooks from Chronicle Books.  My husband bought these for me last year for my birthday, and I love them.  They’re the perfect size to throw in my purse and write down grocery lists, funny things my kids said that day, websites I want to look up, or ideas for a scene or story line to write into my current project.

Jewelry from Twisted Silver.  I love this lucky penny necklace, and this old world necklace.  Twisted Silver has been spotted on the wrists, fingers, and necks of many celebrities, so you’ll be in good company!  Plus, the founder and owner is an amazing woman.  She is always finding ways she can give back to her community, including helping at and organizing people to work at nursing homes, soup kitchens, and veteran’s events.  She’s the kind of person everyone wants to be like when they grow up!

Cashmere.  There’s nothing better than being wrapped up in cashmere.  I love this dress from Banana Republic, but let’s face it – long gone are the days when I can successfully wear something like this.  Three children have wreaked considerable havoc on my body.  Instead, I would opt for something like this cardigan from Banana Republic, or this cashmere wrap, also from Banana Republic.

Finally…chocolate.  When in doubt, buy chocolate.  My favorite chocolate shop is Cocoa Bella in San Francisco.

I hope this gives you some ideas.  Happy shopping!
