It’s Hard to See Them Grow Up!
Someday it will happen. You will look down at your baby and see that she is not a baby at all. In fact, she has hopes and dreams and plans. PLANS! Sometimes those plans are little and easily attended to, like wanting a popsicle or asking you to read her a book. Other times those plans are bigger, like wanting to cut her hair. I realize that in the grand scheme of things, this is still a very small plan. But when plans are accompanied by strong wills and stubborness, and the fact that this is the first haircut your daughter has ever had, those plans somehow seem bigger.
Kate (a.k.a. Kiki – a nickname I’ve called her for a long time, but she has recently adopted as her actual name) has been begging us for months to let her get a bob. But I’ve had a hard time letting go of those long locks. Finally, after much discussion and even taking a pair of scissors to her own hair, we gave in.
She looks super cute, but she also looks older, and that makes me sad. She will always be my baby, but she’s definitely not a baby anymore!
