We Can Do Hard Things

May 20, 2011

I made this poster in Photoshop and printed it out at 16″x20″ ($6 at Costco – can’t beat the price!).  I framed it and put it in our living room.  I love it!  Now whenever my kids say something like, “It’s hard for me to tie my shoes,” or, “I’m too tired to pick up my backpack,” I just point to the sign and say, “That’s okay – we can do hard things!”

It’s been good for me too.  As I’ve been going through the frustrations of everyday life combined with the frustrations of bigger picture life, I often notice the sign as I pass through our living room and tell myself that, “It’s okay – we can do hard things!”  If you want a copy too, you can download it here.  (This is my first time uploading a document there, and my first time creating a pdf.  So if there’s something wrong with it, let me know.  Want a different color?  Just e-mail me and I’ll make you one!)

Happy Friday!
